MMO News Roundup

Mythos
As on Friday, 18 July 2008 at 11:59 PST, the MMO named Mythos, had its beta testing suspended without any notice of when, or if, it would ever be restarted. This effectively kills the game, as you are more likely to see the Dalai Lama give a benediction at the opening ceremony of the Beijing games than you will to see Mythos ever go live now. Sure, officially this suspension is optimistically called a “hiatus”. Just like Grace Park will be waiting for me when I get home tonight wearing a lacy teddy and holding a six pack of ice-cold, refreshing Straub beer.
See the official announcement here.
The only chance for the travelers of Uld to again take up their game again, would be if the property was sold lock, stock, and french ticklers to another developer.
Warhammer Online
Nope…still don’t give a s**t.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic MMO Announced
At E3 the announcement was made that indeed Bioware is indeed developing an MMO based upon the excellent RPG Knights of the Old Republic and its very shitty sequel. This puts to rest all of the rampant rumor mongering over whether or not there will be another Star Wars MMO after SOE raped and murdered the hopes and dreams of thousands of players in their unholy abortion of the MMO genre, Star Wars Galaxies.
See word of the official announcement here.
But before you get your light sabers all excited, remember that EA is involved. Gee, I wonder if there will be some ridiculous DRM on those game discs? I’m sure that EA will do what is right for the avid Star Wars and MMO fans out there, and allow Bioware to actually build a game that is worth a wookie fart before they force its early release and make players pay for the privilege of beta testing some steaming pile of bantha poodoo.
Yeah, and right beside Grace Park and that six pack of Straub will be a similarly clad Gabrielle Miller with some nachos. And they will both be in a randy mood I’m sure.
Assorted Stuff
Here is a nice little site some industrious folks put together, listing 365 days of free games that you can download. Check it out. I personally like “5 minutes to kill yourself”.
Have fun!
