City of Heroes has the long-awaited mission editor in open beta on their test server. So if you are the type who denounces the missions in the superhero MMO as crap, now is the time to put up or shut up. Get your ass on to test the builder, and create some content for other players so that the rest of us can see whether you know what you are talking about, or are just full of s**t. Click here for the lowdown on the CoH Architect, and how the player-created missions will be rated by players and devs alike.

The new MMO, Runes of Magic, should be launched by the time you read this. This free-to-play MMO looks amazingly familiar to me in its style, but I have yet to experience the gameplay. The price is right however, so what the hell? Log your ass in if you already are signed up. And if not, head on over to Massively.com for a nice first impressions overview of the game just put up, along with a gallery of screenshots. Click here to view the preview. I have to say, I am surprised to see this level of depth in a f2p MMO. This one might be worth the trouble to at least take a look at.

Most MMOs see some sort of RMT (Real Money Transfer) regardless of their developers taking a dim view of the practice. A few have begun to tentatively flirt with the idea in an effort to test alternate business models other than the usual monthly subscription. From several perspectives this makes a lot of sense, as casual players will end up investing much less per month on average than hardcore players of any particular MMO. Entropia Universe however, has gone all in to the RMT concept, including the inclusion of a real-life ATM card for the past three years. Click here to see that article. Now the latest development is that Entropia Universe now has been granted a banking license from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority. This grants such routine banking services as deposit insurance, interest, direct deposit, bill paying, as well as lending. Click here to read more. Lastly today, for a company that has been dogged by rumors of cash flow problems, Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment seems to be plugging away at the upcoming (hopefully) MMO Stargate Worlds. There are a couple new screenshots showing off some of the ambient light effects going into the game, in addition to the new ablative armor and tier 5 PVK Advanced Sub-Machine Gun. Click here to check them out for yourself. OOOoooo…pretty.
