…someone mapped out the evolution of the video game controller? A researcher and blogger at Pasta&Vingear was involved in a project that included mapping out the progression of the console controller from Tandy all the way to current gen consoles. Pretty interesting reading if you are into the science of gaming.

…playing with your Wii may be dangerous to your health in you live in the UK? According to a recent report in the Sun, 10 people in the UK are sent to the ER each week with Wii-related injuries. Ten a week? Either the Brits are waaay out of shape, or they are getting a little too absorbed in their tennis matches with grandma. 

…Shaun White is already talking sequel, but Ubisoft is staying tight-lipped?  The Flying Tomato made a few comments recently that alluded to a sequel to Shaun White snowboarding that may be in the works, but Ubisoft insists nothing is official just yet. Full story: 1Up

…the mystery behind “a next Metal Gear” has been solved? The teaser site that Konami launched in early Dec finally revealed that the next Metal Gear is…Metal Gear Touch for the iPhone and iPod Touch! The game is scheduled to release in March of 09. Full story: Edge

…details are starting to surface about the rumored Clock Tower movie? The film, will be “loosely” based on the Playstation classic. Based on the movie posters I have seen so far, I’d say VERY loosely based. Full story and link to posters can be found at: MTV

…your chances of landing that big job may be diminished if you admit to playing WoW? Yes, I think it’s bullshit too, but a recruiter recently shared their experiences on a F-13 forum about being asked by employers to avoid WoW players. Their reasons? “There is a belief that WoW players cannot give 100% because their focus is elsewhere, their sleeping patterns are often not great, etc.” 

…the theaters may soon be flooded with video game based films? I already mentioned Clock Tower, but the Dallas Examiner recently took a look at 28 video game titles that will soon be films. Sigh…has Uwe Boll taught the industry nothing? …EA was recently slapped on the wrist for showing Xbox 360 game footage for a Wii version of a game? Apparently, the TV spot for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 depicts a Wii controller, but uses the better quality 360 footage of the game. …new, downloadable content for Fable II will be available on Dec 26th and it includes an additional 100 possible achievement points? The expansion, called “Knothole Island” will include new areas, items and quests and will cost 800 MS points (about $10.) Full story: Xbox 360 Fanboy

…issues are already popping up in the open beta of Sony’s virtual environment, Home? Sony posted on their official Playstation blog yesterday, acknowledging that some users were experiencing problems accessing Home, and asking for patience while they resolve issues. Full story: Venture Beat 

…according to John Geleynse, Dir of Technolohu Evangalism at Apple, the iPhone is for all intents and purposes a “gaming console?” He went on to say that when it’s not being used as a phone, the iPhone provides a, “console experience.” We expect to see more and more titles available for the iPhone soon, based on the company’s clear indications that they see the iPhone as a threat to the DS and PSP. …Guitar Hero may be coming to an arcade near you in early 2009? Activision is teaming up with Raw Thrills and Konami to bring this fret-burning title to the arcade a la DDR. The arcade version will be based on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Full story: MTV

…Nintendo is planning to launch a DS book reader similar to the Kindle? A deal was made between Nintendo and publisher, Harper Collins to bring “The 100 Classic Book Collection” to the DS. …you may soon be able to play Parasite Eve in the palm of your hand? The third in the series of Parasite Eve games will be coming to the Sony PSP, according to an announcement at the Tokoyo Game Show.
