HCG Musashi’s Review - Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe

HCG Musashi’s Review - Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe Posted by HCG Musashi | Filed under Reviews

I’ve always had somewhat of a love-hate relationship with the Mortal Kombat series. While the first two releases were a welcome alternative the the much-copied Street Fighter template, Mortal Kombat 3 marked the beginning of some very bad times for the series that would stretch throughout the years up to and including Mortal Kombat Armageddon.

That being said, I was fairly sceptical when Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe was announced. Even with the promises of a totally built-from-scratch fighting engine and improved character development, I couldn’t help but expect a next-gen hunk of rehashed bad ideas. Despite all the impressive screen shots and gameplay videos, I kept my excitement in check; nothing but a sit-down with the final build was going to allow to form an opinion.

Now that I’ve sat down and shared some quality time with MK vs. DC, I can finally say that finally, Midway has come through on some long-awaited promises…

Really Cool Lego Recreations of Famous Video Games

Really Cool Lego Recreations of Famous Video Games Posted by HCG KP1gL37 | Filed under Random Cool Stuff

I’ve seen a lot of movie and video game characters recreated with Legos, but the 15 famous video game scenes we found on The Toy Zone definitely deserve a look. They are so carefully detailed and accurate, the creators HAVE to be hardcore gamers. My personal favorite is Mortal Kombat, if for nothing else than the exposed spinal column. A few of my favorites are below, but you can check out all 15 at The Toy Zone site

Final roster for Mortal Kombat vs. DC announced - Let the fanboy debates begin!

Final roster for Mortal Kombat vs. DC announced - Let the fanboy debates begin! Posted by HCG Musashi | Filed under News

Midway announced today the final four characters that will be appearing in the upcoming cross-over fighter, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Shao Kahn, Darkseid, Baraka and Lex Luthor have all made the cut (Lex probably bribed his way in - turd).

I’m guessing various post-boards about MK vs DC are gonna heat up. Expect to see “why wasn’t Ermac included! FTW!!” or “Holy $hit! - Lex Luthor? he’s the suXXorz!” (pardon the generalizations - I’m sure the actual posts will be much, much, more eloquent).

With the roster finally…umm…finalized, it’s now only a matter of waiting ’till November 11th to see if MK vs. DC lives up to the hype…
