I’m Calling Out Marisa Miller: Your Gamertag is NOT Pummel Puss

I’m Calling Out Marisa Miller: Your Gamertag is NOT Pummel Puss Posted by HCG KP1gL37 | Filed under News, Random Cool Stuff

Now, I was a little skeptical when supermodel Marisa Miller announced her Xbox Live gamertag on the 2008 Spike TV Video Game awards tonight. I thought it was even more dubious when she invited the world to come play Gears of War 2 with her and, “get yourself chainsawed.” I tried to check out her gamer tag, but sure enough…it doesn’t exist. I tried every variation. Every possible spelling. With spaces, a hyphen, you name it. Believe me, I TRIED, and this chick’s “supposed” tag of Pummel Puss is nowhere to be found.

As a female gamer, I’m sick and tired of women pretending to love gaming just for the sake of whatever TV special they are hired to shake their boobs on. So, I am officially calling you out Marisa. One female to another. If you really are the gamer you claim you are, you will have no problem giving us your REAL tag.

What You Should Be Watching Right Now: The Guild

What You Should Be Watching Right Now: The Guild Posted by HCG KP1gL37 | Filed under Random Cool Stuff

I’m a big fan of Felicia Day. Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog has permanently placed Felicia into my “favorite actresses of our generation” column. So you can imagine my delight when I came across “The Guild” for FREE in the Xbox Live marketplace this weekend. The Guild is billed as an “online sitcom” and it follows the story of one particular WoW guild. Each episode was written and stars Felicia Day who is a notorious WoW player, along with a hilarious cast of characters who make up her online guild. Without giving away any spoilers, all I can say is that this series is a MUST SEE! The first season’s 10 episodes are available now for download for FREE (each is about 5 minutes) on Xbox Live and YouTube. Check out episode 1 below. I can’t wait to see where this show goes in season 2.

Rock the Vote…On Xbox Live

Rock the Vote…On Xbox Live Posted by HCG KP1gL37 | Filed under News

A new partnership between Microsoft and Rock the Vote has given gamers a new way to make their voices heard. Now you can register to vote quickly and easily on Xbox Live. Not only that, but Xbox Live is also conducting a poll of gamers to determine who has the lead among gaming voters. You can voice your opinion by downloading one of four gamer pics: Barack Obama, John McCain, Undecided or Other. Results will be announced this upcoming week. I think this is a pretty cool way to allow younger voters to voice their opinions and most importantly, register to vote!

“The Xbox LIVE community is active, vocal, and passionate. We’re thrilled to partner with Rock the Vote.”

Wing Commander Arena Xbox Live Trailer Already!

Wing Commander Arena Xbox Live Trailer Already! Posted by HCG Paco | Filed under News, Trailers

Damn, that was fast! Here it is, good Lord, here it is. The Wing Commander Arena Xbox Live Trailer. This isn’t only shaping up fast, but it is looking really good too, if you aren’t expecting anything other than spaceships connecting it to the franchise. How did this famous franchise get this far along and no one knew? Very impressive, EA. Very impressive indeed. It makes a gamer wonder what other famous long-dead franchises are currently in development.

Back to the trailer; Is it just me or does this look more like Geometry Wars, Marble Blast Ultra, and Wing Commander combined? Seriously, this could’ve been named Battlestar Galactica at this point, because that is how much the game seems to have in common with the original franchise at this point. No in-cockpit view? No wingmen? At this point I have to wonder if there are even Kilrathi in this game? Watch the trailer closely, it looks like everyone is fighting on the same plane, rather than truly dog-fighting. I hope this isn’t a crappy, generic Xbox Live Arcade title that someone slapped the Wing Commander name on and called it a day, but it sure seems to be heading down that path…
